The founder
Emmanuel Bocquet has worked with Linux and Python for 20 years and has built web-based business applications for small and medium-sized businesses for 10 years. He founded UnixDev in 2017. The company that writes your software is also the one that runs the server it lives on.
He spent six years on Ansible automation and Python development at Desjardins. For ten years, he has looked after the systems of Electro-Experts and Réservation camping.ca.
How we work
We would rather be a small business's long-term technical partner than one more agency. Most of our clients come through referrals, and they stay: when something goes wrong, they know who to write to, and that contact knows their system.
Development projects move forward in short cycles, following an agile approach. Each cycle builds in the adjustments from the previous one, so the software keeps up with your needs as they change.

Meeting
You walk us through the need; we set the objectives together.
Planning
The work is broken down into tasks, with a clear action plan.
Design
Concepts and mock-ups show the solution before it is coded.
Development
The features are coded and put in place.
Testing
Problems are found and fixed before deployment.
Review
The result is measured against the objectives.
Then the next cycle begins, with what the review has taught us.
A proof of concept first
When a project involves technical uncertainty, it starts with a quick proof of concept, which we present to you before going further. If it reveals that something cannot be done, we decide together to stop, rather than finding out at the end of the project.
